West Midlands Mayor Andy Street Applauds Success of Inaugural Building the Future Awards as Nominations for 2024 Commence on Friday, 9th February.
Excitement abounds as nominations open this week for the highly anticipated 2024 Building the Future Awards. The resounding success of the 2023 edition sets the stage for another year of celebration and recognition within the construction industry. West Midlands Mayor Andy Street has commended industry leaders for their unwavering support of this ground-breaking initiative, which aims to honour young construction talent—a sentiment echoed as tickets for the Black-Tie event sold out for 2023.
Mr. Street delivered a keynote address at Villa Park on Friday, 17th November 2023, emphasising the Awards’ significance in highlighting opportunities for young professionals within a sector vital to the region’s economy. He remarked, “These awards spotlight the diverse career avenues available, empowering young individuals to realize their aspirations in this thriving sector.”
From promising apprentices to innovative entrepreneurs, the winners of the inaugural Building the Future Awards exemplify the exceptional talent fostered by companies across the region’s construction landscape. The upcoming ceremony, organised by Erroll Lawson and Zoe Bennett, is scheduled for 15th November 2024.
The 2023 awards, headlined by Birmingham City Council and South and City College Birmingham, enjoyed sponsorship from esteemed partners such as Qatar Airways, Bootcamp Media, leading construction firms Careys, OM Group, and many more. Supporting entities include the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), the West Midlands Combined Authority, HS2, CECA, UCB, and The Home Group.
