A new Birmingham-based tech start-up, Supabite, has launched a human-centric product with AI at its heart, in a bid to take on the Silicon Valley giants. With a vision to support businesses that are building customer-focussed brands, Supabite has set its sights on developing a simple, automated solution to collect video testimonials from clients; saving time, money, and resources across the board.

Bridging the gap between services and products, and their end-users, Supabite helps companies to gather video testimonials from customers, collecting real reviews from real customers in real-time.

The beta version is currently available for customers, and Supabite co-founders – husband-and-wife-duo Janani Prasad and Harish Annam – hope that they will be able to use this feedback-phase to help improve the model for businesses and customers alike.

Having worked with tech-titans, including PayPal, AMEX, and Wolters Kluwer, for over 20 years combined, the idea for Supabite came to Janani and Harish last year when they realised that businesses weren’t capturing their customers in the most effective ways. Janani comments:

“As a consumer, I am constantly relying on reviews to choose where I shop, where I eat, what I do at the weekends; turning to video-focused social media channels like TikTok and Instagram to find out other people’s recommendations. However, in the world of business, this just doesn’t exist. Professional videography can be incredibly expensive – not to mention the additional costs of storing and streaming videos once you have them – so for businesses, it’s simply not viable.

“Having worked in tech for over 20 years, Harish and I knew there must be a way to optimise the process, creating a platform that business owners can implement cost-and-time-effectively, and that customers can use easily: that’s how Supabite was born.”

Supabite allows companies to collect video testimonials by sharing a single link with their customers, and guiding them through the process of leaving an effective review through a short Q&A. Once submitted, the videos are then optimised by the platform to be suitable for social media channels, email marketing, and websites.

What’s more, Supabite also compiles and imports the best pre-existing testimonials from multiple platforms – including Google, LinkedIn, and Trustpilot – to keep all reviews in one easily-accessible place.

Speaking about Supabite’s aspirations, Janani continued:

Now we are in our beta-phase, we are focused on developing the platform to be the very best it can be for our users. We have already had such positive feedback from companies about how beneficial it has been and how useful customers have found it so far. As we make further improvements, we truly hope that Supabite will become the go-to platform for companies that wish to build greater connections with their customers.

“We’re so proud to be amongst the city’s thriving tech start-up scene, which is only getting stronger by the day. We hope that, with the work of Supabite, we will add to the story that the West Midlands is the one to watch for innovation and development.”
