A brand new bar, restaurant and late-night venue opened in the Jewellery Quarter last week, just in time for Christmas. Set to shake up the Birmingham nightlife scene, Tabu Bar & Restaurant brings together Pan Asian cuisine and live entertainment all wrapped up in a luxury, underground retreat.
Inspired by the speakeasy scene of 1920s New York, Tabu Bar & Restaurant is a high energy hidden gem where you can drink, dine, and dance the night away. The seductive subterranean venue boasts a spacious bar and dining area, along with private booths for groups, and will be home to live music every Thursday-Sunday night.
A venue steeped in history, in one of the city’s most culturally rich locations, the interior brings together stunning exposed brick, striking mood lighting, and luxury furnishings. The industrial arches set against plush interiors creates a backdrop for the most Insta-worthy night out.
Tabu will be a feast for the senses, with an immersive dining experience and live music in the 200-cover restaurant, where chefs will serve up Pan Asian cuisine including sushi and gyoza until 11pm. Whilst performers entertain diners, the venue’s resident DJs will play a soulful urban fusion in the Jewellery Quarter bar and lounge accompanied by live percussion and saxophonists.
The 400-capacity venue will be a place to sip on a classic cocktail by the bar or bring friends together to dance the night away, every Thursday-Sunday night from 5pm-late*. A New Year’s Eve party is planned to kickstart 2023 in style, and in the early new year Tabu will be offering bottomless brunches and daytime lunches from 12pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Joining the thriving Birmingham nightlife scene, Tabu arrives just in time for the end of year festivities, opened on Friday 16 December. To find out more and book a table, visit www.tabubirmingham.com.
