Connecting Classrooms is a global programme for schools, designed to prepare young people for life in a global society and work in a global economy. It supports teachers to develop their classroom practice in core skills – the six essential skills that young people need to prosper in the 21st Century. This will help them shape the future for themselves and generations to come. Connecting Classrooms is a partnership between the British Council and the Department for International Development.
Our partner schools is Model School & College Mansehra – Khyber PakhtunKhwa, Abbottabad. After staff exchanging reciprocal visits in July and in December and the British Council impressed with our developing partnership we ended the project with a celebration event at Washwood Heath Academy, delegates included the Lord Mayor of Birmingham and a delegation group from Pakistan which included Waqas Nasir Afridi – Deputy Director, Federal Director of Education/PSO to Federal Education Minister, Amtul Qudus – Director General, Quade Azam Academy of Education Development, Government of Punjab, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry – Secretary, Elementary and Secondary Education, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gohar Ali Khan – Director, Directorate of Curriculum and Teacher Education, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nishat Riaz – Director Education, British Council, Muhammad Ali – Head of Schools, British Council and Saadia Bashir – Asst. Deputy Director, Training & Evaluation, Army Public School And College Secretariat.
