Terrified diners at McDonalds hide under tables as gunman storms into the Bescot Retail Park, Walsall.
The Retail was sealed off by police after the robbery.
Staff at the McDonalds restaurant were left ‘trembling in fear’ after a masked gunman stored in demanding cash from the tills.
West Midlands Police sealed off the Bescot Retail Park-based eatery following the terrifying raid at around 9pm on Wednesday 6th February 2019.
Police say the man entered the restaurant and threated staff with a knife and- what was believed to have been a gun- before demanding cash from the tills.
No-one was injured during the robbery and enquiries remain ongoing.
A spokesman for the force said: “Police are investigating reports of a robbery at McDonald’s in Bescot Retail Park, Walsall at 9pm last night (6 February).
“A masked man entered the restaurant and threatened staff with a knife and what is believed to have been a gun, before demanding cash from the tills.
“Fortunately, no-one was injured, and enquiries remain ongoing.”
An eyewitness, who works at the site, said that staff were left shaken following the attack.
“It was terrifying,” they said. “The staff are all so shaken – we were trembling in fear.
“Some of the customers were hiding behind the tables for cover.
“I hope they catch the scumbag, he needs stopping.”
