Birmingham Airport is planning a £15 million expansion of its terminal building which will include an expanded departure lounge and baggage area.

The transport hub lodged new plans with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council last week and a three-week consultation period will start soon.

The project which is named as Terminal Extension 3 (TE18), will involve some demolition work, reconfiguration and renovation of existing departure lounge toilets and re-provision of an existing smoking terrace.

“The extra terminal space is intended to ensure a high level of customer service at Birmingham Airport, ensuring more comfort to our passengers.
