A young man has suffered a serious knife injury after a dispute over a collision, turned into a stabbing in broad daylight.
The incident took place yesterday at around 5:30PM on Coventry Road.
Emergency services were alerted before ambulance vans and unmarked police cars arrived at the scene. Several armed police officers approached the victim, before medics were then sent in.
The victim was treated by the paramedics outside a doctor’s surgery, before he was air lifted to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Police are currently looking for the knifeman, who is believed to have ‘fled the scene’ after having injured the victim. They have also closed off the scene while ‘forensic enquiries are being conducted’, and no arrests have yet been made.
An official statement from West Midlands Police discloses that the man has ‘suffered serious knife injuries’ and ‘has been taken to hospital where his condition is described as life-changing’.
They also ask anyone with information relating to the incident to call police on 101 as it will help to identify the knifeman as soon as possible.
