On the 4thMay 2018 The Birmingham Youth Sports Academy (BYSA) once again celebrated its 16thYear at their 5thGala Charity Dinner which was non-other than amazing to describe the event over 500 people were in attendance from special guests, sponsors, ambassadors, table partners, media partners.
The event had a lot of class this year and as always it’s getting better and better every year, with the support of its followers / supporters since they have been established. The charity depends on this annual event to raise funds for the outstanding work it offers to the youth of the community within the surrounding areas of small heath and so forth. The BYSA has reached out to London, Manchester as company ‘s were in attendance and impressed with what they saw especially the Liverpool FC legends in attendance Alan Kennedy and David Fairclough who were the after dinner speakers for 2018 along with many more big names in the sporting field.
The Host for the event was the lovely Noreen Khan (BYSA Ambassador) who again wished to host the event along with a lovely line up of entertainment starting with Kikli Roadshow (National award winning DJ’s), Socharo Dancers, Zamaan Ismail (Professional Magician/illusionist), Mike Osman (Impressionist) and the return of Kev Orkian (Professional comedian).
The event was a full actioned packed event with a 3 course meal, speeches, awards, entertainment with dancers/comedians, after dinner speakers, chairman’s award, live auction, Raffle, networking opportunities and much more.
The BYSA delivered a well presented evening with celebs in attendance and high profile guests to share their great work that they are currently doing, no charity of the sort is doing such work the way the BYSA motto is “Making Birmingham Better”. The work done by the charity ranges from boys/girls recreational football, Centre of excellence, Mentoring Programme. The Accolades achieved over the past few years have been well deserved as the charity has finally reached out to the wider community to be recognised for its work especially for 2018 receiving the Pride of Birmingham Award (TSB community partner award) which was awarded on the night by the entire BYSA team of volunteers, Honorary Chairman Zaheer Afzal and Senior brother Imtiaz Khattak to the founder of the BYSA – Mr Anwar Khattak BEM with an emotional speech, dedicating the award to his Son and thanking everyone in attendance.
The Auctioneer Mr Balbir Singh (BYSA ambassador) long standing supporter of the BYSA as always, did an amazing job to raise considerable amount of funds for the charity which benefits the youth and the projects it carries out on a weekly basis since 2002.
The Chairman’s award 2018 was awarded by Majid Salim (BYSA chairman) to a dedicated individual who has survived cancer 2 times and continues to fundraise and fight on with life, a true inspirational individual none other than Mr James Golding who gave a brilliant speech stating we must do more and keep fighting on. A true winner like our other winners in the past years but James did it for us all.
