A wedding venue in Small Heath is due to reopen in the summer after its ceiling collapsed on 200 guests including schoolchildren in 2017.
Around 40 firefighters, including specialist teams worked to stabilise the Al-Miraj Banqueting suite when the ceiling collapsed, three youngsters were among six people hurt.
The venue has remained closed since the incident but a spokesman for Al Miraj said there were plans to reopen the venue by the summer.
He said: “We are carrying out renovation work at the venue at the moment and we are aiming to be open by the summer. The legal case against the builder responsible for work to the ceiling is ongoing.”
At the time of the incident venue director Gaus Uddin said he thanked God that none of the injuries were serious.
“I admit it could have been much more serious.”
Mr Uddin said he bought the venue in 2016 and paid a building firm to carry out improvements in the hall, including a suspended ceiling.
