Indian Restaurant on Stratford Road Mughal-e-Azam shut its doors on Sunday January 21 with immediate effect.

The restaurant  that held 250 covers also ran as successful banqueting suite and is renowned for its distinguished impressive interior with its red brick facade and palatial tall white columns.

Co-owner Omar Ali said: “We decided to close this year. It’s very sad news for our staff and customers, but over the past couple of months we realised that it was more commercially viable to concentrate just as a banqueting venue for weddings.

“We will continue to welcome bookings for wedding receptions – offering a full service including catering.”

The restaurant opened 2012, and reviewers have been wowed by the majestic dining experience offered here thanks to the its opulent décor, vaulted ceilings, ornate brass decorations, giant vases, brick arches and marble floors.

Many took to the restaurant’s Facebook page after the announcement.
