A former Birmingham hospital is set to be repurposed after going on sale for up to £1.2m. The Old skin hospital could see itself transformed into a pub, restaurant or other business and after being acquired by new hands.

First built back in the 1880’s, the Birmingham and Midland Skin Hospital is a Grade II Listed building situated on John Bright Street, which aside from the hospital, is filled with bars and restaurants.

Skin Hospital is currently owned by Birmingham Properties group. Director at Lambert Smith Hampton, a commercial property consultancy, Richard Durkin said: “Opportunities like this don’t come along very often and we confidently expect strong demand for the building which is located in one of Birmingham’s prime leisure locations.

“It is just a stone’s throw from Grand Central, John Lewis and the Mailbox with a wide range of bars and restaurants nearby.

“It offers the buyers the opportunity to create a really attractive bar, restaurant, hotel or alternative leisure use right in the heart of the action.”
