UK movie goers, sci-fan fans and Star Wars obsessives are in full rejoice as it has been revealed that the upcoming Star Wars Rogue One will be screened across the UK a full day before the US.
The highly anticipated spin off from the mega franchise Star Wars, arguably one of the best cinematic series of all time, will be released on December 15th.
The good news came via twitter, when Star Wars UK tweeted:
Star Wars: The Force Awakens also opened in the UK before the US and now Rogue One is set to give us something to smile about. The standalone film stars Felicity Jones as main character Jyn Erso, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Jiang Wen, and Forest Whitaker. The diverse cast has been highly praised as has the choice to feature another female protagonist. The original Star Wars movies saw only two main female characters who were side-lined into romantic roles, but the new Star Wars hits seem to be breaking away from such stereotypes.
Disney CEO Bob Iger called the film an “an experiment of sorts.” An origin story for beloved bounty hunter Han Solo from the original series is also in the works.
