Bollywood sci-fi? Those two words paired together aren’t something you hear too often, but it’s true. And who better to fly past the clouds than the public’s most adored Aamir Khan. According to sources, Aamir’s next film is rumoured to be a biopic on Rakesh Sharma, India’s very first astronaut.
Sharma first reached for the stars back in 1984, on board the Soyuz-11. Now Sharma, 67, is to help inform the writing of the script using his experiences of the training process and eventual journey to outer space.
Mahesh Mathai is to direct the film with Ronnie Screwvala’s new production company RSVP producing. As of now, only Aamir is thought to be on the cast. The film, though untitled at the moment, is slated for release 2018 with shooting starting next year.
