England loses fourth test by ten wickets allowing Pakistan to level series

Pakistan defeated England at The Oval by ten wickets in the fourth and final Test of the series. They were given 40 runs to chase in the final innings of the match by England which Pakistan triumphed over in the 13th over.

The series is made up of four Tests, five ODIs and a T-20 match

The hosts were bowled out for 542 in the 1st innings of the match where Younis Khan played an impressive 218 runs and Asad Shafiq scored 109 runs. Pakistan were 214 runs ahead of England’s 1st innings who held at 328. England continued the fourth day of the final Test at 88-4.

Azhar Ali and Sami Aslam remained with scores of 30 and 12 runs respectively as Pakistan successfully blazed on without losing any wickets. Azhar ended the match by hitting a huge six off Moeen Ali’s ball towards long-on.

Younis Khan earned the name ‘Man of the Match’ while Misbah-ul-Haq went a step further being labelled ‘Man of the Series’. On England’s side Chris Woakes was named England’s ‘Man of the Series’.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif congratulated the team for their achievement on climbing to number two on the Test rankings.
