Launch parties were held after the play’s premiere as fans around the world clamoured for the book.

In Singapore almost 300 fans ran into Kinokuniya bookstore to purchase the book, they were one of the first in the world to view it.

24-year-old Student Samantha Chua, who was first in line with her boyfriend, waited outside the fourth-floor bookstore since 5:00am.

“We were here so early that the mall wasn’t even open yet so we had to come up through the cargo lifts.

“I grew up reading the books and I have a special place for them on my shelves but this will be my crowning glory.”

Hundreds of fans headed down London’s Picadilly Street to get their hands on a copy, while others waited outside Lello, a Gothic Revival-style bookstore in Portugal’s historic centre. Some who had purchased the books sat in spaces around the store reading it straight away.
