A building in Oldbury held more than 200 cannabis plants, they were found in three hidden rooms behind a former shop site. The discovery came about on Birmingham Street.

Local police including West Midlands Police cannabis disposal team found six rooms with plants at various stages of growth.

The electricity supply was used to support growing equipment and power lights.

No arrests have been made yet and no one was found in the building. Earlier this month plants with an approximate value of £115,000 were discovered in two cannabis factories in the same Acocks Green property. The plants were discovered by firefighters when they were called to a fire which started in a house loft on Mayfield Road. After suspecting the property was used as a cannabis farm they alerted police.

Last month the cannabis disposal team cracked down on £2.2million worth of plants in Birmingham and the Black Country.
