The Ricoh Arena has announced further musical legends to the Mela Coventry event this summer with live performances from international superstars Miss Pooja, Abrar Ul Haq, Sukshinder Shinda, and Malkit Singh MBE. Miss Pooja, the princess of Bhangra, is a respected singer and actress and one of the largest selling female Bhangra artists in India and overseas. Pakistani singer Abrar Ul Haq will be performing some of his all-time hits from Billo De Ghar, Beja Cycle Te and Nach Punjaban, some of the biggest international hits known to Punjabi music lovers worldwide.
Midlands-based singers Sukshinder Shinda and Malkit Singh MBE, two of the most successful artists from the UK to gain international fame, will be performing live at the Ricoh Arena for the first time.
The evening of Bhangra music, in association with Touch FM, will start on Saturday, August 13 at 7pm with The Legends Band.
Tickets are from just £10 and are available online or at various outlets inCoventry, Leicester and Birmingham.
The Bhangra Night ticket includes free entry to Coventry Mela with a street food festival, Mela Dance School hosting a series of free lessons in Bhangra and Bollywood dancing, a South Asian lifestyle exhibition featuring around 25 Midlands-based retailers and manufacturers and fashion shows throughout the day on a specially constructed catwalk, from 10am.
The day-time activities will also feature the UK premiere of a Bollywood film priced at £10 per person, starting at 2pm, in a specially created cinema.
