The iconic destination in London, Mayfair hosted Indian fashion royalty on Sunday at Aashni + Co’s Wedding Show in association with Mustang Productions presented bridal and couture collections by some of the subcontinent’s most coveted designers.
Conceptualised by Founder and Creative Director, Aashni Anshul Doshi (Shah), the event was a success, surpassing the high benchmark established by the show in its debut year, with visitor entry queues for the duration of the day. Some of India’s most celebrated designers presented their latest bridal and couture collections on one high-end platform, from established, A-list fashion houses to rising star, new-gen talents. In attendance were fashion luminaries including Anamika Khanna, Anju Modi, Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi, Varun Bahl, Akanksha Gajria, Ridhima Bhasin, Gaurav Gupta, Masaba, Rimple Narula, Samant Chauhan, Sonali Gupta and Paras Modi of SVA.
Visitors to the exhibition had the opportunity of meeting the attending fashion talents. Additionally, Aashni + Co Wedding Show welcomed lauded Pakistani designer, Faraz Manan, presented by Hello! Pakistan alongside his Indian contemporaries as well as jewellery and accessory collections by Amrapali and Amishi London.
Among the attending fashion luminaries, Sabyasachi said, “Aashni’s show is terrific. She always manages to get an avalanche of people in. It was exhausting but it was very well organised and I think she has become the most important interface between Indian designers and NRI brides who don’t normally get to meet the designers face to face.”
