Bhavna Limbachia, better known as Alia Khan from BBC’s hit series ‘Citizen Khan’, is set to make her ‘Coronation Street’ debut next month.
The Preston-born actress joins the rest of the Weatherfield residents as Rana, an old university friend of Alya’s, Played by Saira Khan.
It’s not long before the new arrival gets settled, with her sights firmly set on Zeedan, Alya’s brother, as a potential love interest.
Corrie Producer Stuart Blackburn adds: “Rana is sharp, funny, utterly gorgeous and a little manipulative. She’s a girl who likes to get her own way and when she sets her sights on something, or someone…well, Zeedan better have his wits about him!”
Talking about her new role Bhavna said, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the show. Being a proud Northerner – it’s a dream come true!”
Viewers will get their first glimpse of Bhavna in her new role on Friday 19 February!
