Christmas is coming to Birmingham’s Bull Ring Markets
Christmas is coming to Birmingham’s Bull Ring Markets with a host of events and activities for shoppers in the run up to 25th December.
The festivities begin on Tuesday (15 December) with the Bull Ring Markets civic carol concert, which will be attended by the Lord Mayor Cllr Raymond Hassall, at St Martin’s Church in the Bull Ring, at 6.30pm.
Birmingham City Council’s choir will perform during the concert, which is open to all market traders and members of the public and will be followed by refreshments in the church’s café.
This will be followed by a family fun weekend on Saturday 19 December and Sunday 20 December – when a host of colourful characters including Elsa and Olaf from Frozen, Peppa Pig and mischievous Minions will be entertaining shoppers and posing for photos.
Activities on both days will include festive workshops, food stalls and fun fair rides which will take place between 11am and 4pm.
All three Bull Ring markets will be open for business on both dates: between 9.30am and 5.30pm on Saturday, and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
Children will also be able to post a Letter to Santa, and be in with a chance of winning great prizes including pantomime tickets and a tablet, donated by local businesses and the city council’s Financial Inclusion Partnership.
Entry forms can be picked up from the Customer Service Centre, at the corner of the Rag Market, or via email to marketstalls@birmingham.gov.uk
All three markets will be open usual hours until 5pm on Christmas Eve – to ensure Brummies can get everything they need for Christmas – and will reopen at 9am on 29 December.
