Asian Sports Foundation
The Asian Sports Foundation (ASF) is a UK based not-for-profit organisation (NGO), campaigning for equality and inclusion for Asian communities in sport. The ASF will look to deliver tangible projects which break down cultural and religious barriers and provide sporting benefits to a much under-represented minority ethnic community.
Asian Sports Foundation’s leaders have a history of campaigning for equality and inclusion for Asian communities in sport, and have delivered tangible projects which break down cultural and religious barriers and provide sporting benefits to a much under-represented minority ethnic community. ASF’s leaders are prominent Asians in Sport and business.
The foundation is made up of several prominent leading sporting individuals and businesspeople – which are split between having a role as a trustee or an ambassador.
Trustees play a vital role in guiding the future of the ASF as it grows. The management and control of the business of the ASF is vested in the Board. All Trustees make decisions objectively in the interests of the ASF.
Ambassadors play a crucial role in raising the profile of the Asian Sports Foundation, and will support the vision to change the lives of Asians through the power of sport and assist in the delivery of the foundations objectives.
Current Ambassadors include former New Zealand Rugby League player, Robbie Hunter-Paul, England Junior International Hockey Player, Ash Bhogal, England Schools National Boxing Female Champion, Simran Kaur, CEO of Swaggarlicious Limited, Manisha Tailor, Founder of Body Perfect Personal Training Studio; Health & Fitness Expert and Broadcaster, Dal Dhaliwal, Radio and TV Presenter, Noreen Khan, Team Doctor at Crystal Palace, and former Team Doctor at Liverpool FC, Tottenham Hotspur and England FA youth team, Dr Zaf Iqbal, Sky 1 reality show Desi Racals star, Manoj Shah and Professional Golfer, Sahra Hassan.
Award-winning community newspaper, The Asian Today have also been announced as media partners, allowing the foundation to reach grassroots level of the Asian community.
