Twitter Sees New Hashtag #WhoisMuhammed to Reclaim Prophet of Islam
In the wake of the Charlie Hebdo shootings and printing of the Islamic prophet’s cartoon on a new cover, Muslims around the world are reasserting the positive identity of their prophet with the hashtag #WhoIsMuhammed.
Similar to the hashtags #JeSuisCharlie and #JeSuisAhmed, this new hashtag spreads messages about the prophet’s good character and his peaceful teachings.
Messages include:
‘Philosopher, orator, apostle, legislator, warrior, conqueror of ideas, restorer of rational dogmas, #WhoIsMuhammad’
‘He abolished the concept of ethnic discrimination by saying this. #WhoIsMuhammad (Peace be upon him)’
‘#WhoIsMuhammad the person who spoke nothing but good about women’
‘Ranked as the most influential man in human history in a book by Michael H. Hart titled ‘The 100…’ #WhoIsMuhammad’
‘#WhoIsMuhammad A man who taught us not to sleep with a full stomach whilst our neighbours are hungry.’
