Crème de la Crème Honoured at Annual Awards

The Asian Wedding Industry honoured 18 of their colleagues at the Annual Asian Wedding Awards at the Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel. The Annual gala dinner, attracted the who’s who of the UKs Asian Wedding Industry, dignitaries as well as celebrities including Afshan Afazal of Harry Potter and local news presenter Nazia Mogra.

 

The Asian Wedding Experience (AWE) Asian Wedding Awards in association with Graphistudio UK, Costco Wholesale & Unbranded Manchester is the UKs only awards dedicated to the 1000’s of suppliers, from wedding planners, photographers, card makers, to the caterers, venue dressers, filmmakers, hair stylists, and not forgetting the make up artists, toastmasters and a whole host of Asian wedding suppliers were rewarded for their hard work, drive and creativity.

 

The Gala Dinner was hosted by Raj Parmar & Neetal Parekh and awards were presented by a host of celebrities, sponsors and dignitaries. There were 17 categories, including the judges award for outstanding contribution.

 

The recipients of the Awards were;  Makeup Artist of the year went to House of Roxanna, Mehndi Artist of the year went to Mehndi Seasons, Hair Stylist of the year went to Aamir Naveed, Groom Wear Designer of the year went to Ziggi Studio, Florist of the year went to Margaret Mason Event Florists,  Filmmaker of the year went to Tariq Iftikhar Films, Entertainer of the year went to Sonaash Entertainment, Caterer of the year went to Karma Foods, Cake company of the year went to Desserts by Hina,  Bridal Wear Designer of the year  went to Rauf Zahid, Toastmaster of the year went to  Derek Timmins-Jones, Transport supplier of the year went to AJ Limousines,  Venue & Stage Decorator of the year went to Zinc Occasions,  Photographer of the year  went to AIA Photography,  Venue of the year went to Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa, Wedding Stationary Supplier of the year  went to Sijara Designs,  Wedding Planner of the year  went to Snob Events,  and the Judges Award for outstanding contribution was awarded to 72 year old Daud Jiva of Stage Solutions.

 

The 2014 awards had over 254 nominees, which were whittled down to 89 finalists that were judged on elements including on customer service, creativity, dedication and commitment.  The judges on the panel were Beverley Uddin Khandaker – Editor in chief of Didsbury Magazine;  Talat-Farooq Awan – broadcaster and presenter of the BBC Manchester Indus Show; Umbreen Ali – Features Editor of Fusion Lifestyle Magazine;  Rebecca Barter of the Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel, Rabia Ali Shah – Editor of the Asian Wedding Ideas blog and Peter Aust – Executive Chairman of the Northern Guild of Toastmasters. All judges were impressed not only by the level of entrants but the inspirational stories behind them, and the impact they have on their customers.
