Police Appeal to Find Attacker

Detectives are appealing for help to find a man wanted in connection with a violent attack on a woman outside a frozen food store in Coventry.

The 27-year-old had been shopping in Farmfoods on Riley Square in Wood End when she was approached by the offender at around 6:20pm on 31 January.

He dragged the woman to the ground before kicking her repeatedly in the body and head leaving her with cuts and bruises.

A security guard was able to intervene and the offender, described as an Asian man, around 20-years-old, with short black hair and an all-black tracksuit, ran away.

DC Richard Walker, from Force CID in Coventry, said: “The victim was simply doing her shopping when she was subjected to this viscous, unprovoked attack.

“The person responsible is clearly dangerous; we need to find him and ensure he’s brought to justice.

“If you recognise the man in the CCTV images or have any information which could assist our investigation, please get in touch.”

Anyone who can help should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
