In Memory of a Late Community Leader
A successful charity sports event has taken place in memory of a late influential community leader. Despite the bad weather, over 250 residents turned up to watch Baloot Dadyal FC beat Jagpal Stars FC 2-1 on penalties at the Saltley Leisure Centre on Sunday 2 March in memory of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
More than £4,500 was raised on the day which will go towards various projects aross Pakistan and South Asian countries which include building water pumps and donating an orphanage in Pakistan. Organiser Gaberiel Ali said, “I would like to give a special mention to Saltley Leisure Centre who provided their free facilities, to the referees, to our generous sponsors, the teams and all the spectators who turned up to a fantastic family event.”
