City Year UK will be holding a Community Action Day at Golden Hillock School
Charity, City Year UK will be holding a Community Action Day at Golden Hillock Secondary School in Sparkhill. The aim of the event will be to integrate the different ethnicities in Sparkhill and bring them to one place to celebrate the diversity within the community.
The charity will have many activities taking place which include henna, nail art, sports, various games and competitions. City Year is hoping to raise money to donate to the local food bank along with any tins or packed food that families give to them.
Corps Member for City Year UK Nimra Khan said, “Our research showed that the food bank only feeds 90 people per week which falls down to approximately 25-30 people being fed per session and our goal is to change and increase this number.”
The event will take place on Saturday 21st June 2014 between 12pm to 5pm at Golden Hillock School.
