Birmingham-born actor, comedy writer, documentary maker and radio and TV presenter Adil Ray will be headlining the next in the series of Birmingham City University’s City Talks.


During the free event Adil will be interviewed by journalist and Birmingham City University Visiting Professor Donal MacIntyre, where Adil will share his experiences as well as welcome questions from the audience.


The event takes place at the University’s Parkside Building on Thursday 3rd April.


Adil is the star and creator of the BBC One sitcom Citizen Khan which enters its third series later this year. Set in Birmingham, Citizen Khan follows the trials and tribulations of self-appointed Muslim community leader Mr Khan and his long suffering family. Adil has also presented across all four main BBC TV and Radio networks including hard-hitting documentaries on sexual grooming and the role of Islam in Turkey.

  

This free event is part of Birmingham City University’s new public lecture series, entitled City Talks, which features a programme of high profile speakers who will share their views and insights on a range of topics and will be open, free of charge, to local people.
