Inspector Paul Bennett, from WMP Collision Investigation Unit, Said: “This is a tragic incident where a young man has lost his life and a family has woken to the most horrific news this morning.

We are in the early stages of our inquiry and urge witnesses who were in the Balsall Heath area at around 2:30AM and may have seen the Audi A6 prior to the collision to contact us.

Equally, the Audi is believed to have been stolen from the Hodge Hill area of the city some time last night and so we are keen to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the vicinity of Brockhurst Road.”
