Coventry’s Riv Navsarka in line for Asian Business Awards
A COVENTRY entrepreneur is in line for two Asian Business Awards tomorrow night.
Former Young Entrepreneur of the Year Riz Navsarka is vying for the ‘Young Achiever of the Year 2012’ and ‘Small Business of the Year’ accolades at the annual Asian English Business Awards 2012 set to be held in Manchester.
Riz Navsarka, 27, started his business MesmerEyez Cosmetics whilst at Coventry University and turned a £200 university loan into a multimillion pound company is less than five years.
“I am honoured to be in the final for these awards amongst other entrepreneurs who I have looked up to for inspirations whilst growing up,” Riz told The Asian Today.
The 27-year-old started the company from his bedroom in the deprived Hillfields area of Coventry and turned it into a global brand.
Today MesmerEyez is available in High street chains and high end department stores across the U.K, in over 45 countries around the world from Iceland to Beijing, and have been worn in London Fashion Week and featured in fashion bible Vogue.
Last week MesmerEyez launched the world’s first One day Glow (MesmerGlow) contact lenses.
“The last few years have been hard work,” Riz adds.
“But I’ve enjoyed every moment, the ups and downs. I hope my story inspires other young people, you don’t need much money to create a successfully product and make it global just hard work and determination”
“My work takes me around the world, in the last few months I’ve been to Iceland, Croatia, Bosnia and Spain. It amazing to see an idea conceived in my bedroom on shelves around the world.”
