Cannabis Factory found inside disused Indian Restaurant

Officers alerted following tip off from local resident

DUDLEY POLICE are making inquiries into the discovery of a cannabis factory inside a disused Indian restaurant in the town.

Officers received a tip off from a member of the community after two men were seen breaking into a void premises in Wolverhampton Street in Dudley.

Officers arrived at the scene at 10:15pm on Thursday 15th where they found a cannabis set up of approximately 150 plants.

Dudley Inspector Richard Jones, said; “This is a large void building with two floors, the first floor is full of cannabis plants and a well equipped hydroponic set up is in place.

“The call we received from a member of the community has allowed us to seize and confiscate these plants, before they were cultivated and sold on to people within the Dudley borough.”

Inspector Jones added; “Drug cultivation will not be tolerated by West Midlands Police and we would encourage people to contact us if they suspect drug activity is taking place in their area”.

Officers are now at the scene and further investigations will follow, anyone with information should contact Dudley police on 0345 113 5000.
