Five men already charged with house fire that claimed lives of mother and father

POLICE have arrested another man in connection with a house fire in Blackburn which claimed the lives of a mother and father.

Detectives investigating the deaths of Abdullah Mohammed and his wife Ayesha Mohammed arrested a 37-year-old man from Fleetwood, Lancashire earlier today on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

Abdullah Mohammed and his wife Ayesha Mohammed died after a fire swept through their family home on London Road in Blackburn on 21 October.

The couple’s eight-year-old son, Mohammed Mohammed was treated in hospital but has since been discharged.

Their 14-year-old daughter, Siddiqah Mohammed remains in a stable condition and is said to be improving.

Detectives have already charged five men in connection with the fire.

Mohammed Miah, 19, and Habib Iqbal, 25, both from London have been charged with two counts of murder and arson with intent to endanger life.

Three other men, Peter Bowden, 39, from Lytham St Annes and Imran Ali, 29, from Manchester and Sadek Miah, 23, from the Isle of Dogs, have previously been charged with two counts of murder and arson with intent to endanger life.

A 22 year old man from London who was arrested in Forest Gate on suspicion of murder has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
