Munshur Ali sentenced to 14 years in jail

A MAN has been sentenced to 14 years in jail for raping two 13-year-old girls.

Munshur Ali, 22, was convicted of three counts of rape at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court following an eight-day trial last month.

Ali has also been ordered to sign on the sex offender’s register for life and has been disqualified from working with anyone under the age of 18 indefinitely.

The trial heard how Ali piled his victims with alcohol before brutally raping them twice in the back of his car last November.

Ali had offered the two girls a lift in his silver Ford Fiesta after noticing them walking along Newton Street in Hyde on 8 November.

The court was told once in the car, the girls were forcibly driven towards Ashton-under-Lyne, stopping only once when Ali purchased a bottle of vodka.

He then drove the girls to Dukinfield where he raped them twice.

The two girls told the court they feared for their safety and did not fight the attack.

Ali eventually let the girls out of his car, but it took two days before the attack came to light, after one of the victims confided in her mother.

Detective Constable Lindsey Morgan, who investigated the case, said: “Ali preyed on two vulnerable young girls and plied them with alcohol in order to make it easier for him to carry out two horrific sexual attacks on them.

“They both feared for their lives during the attacks, and felt unable to fight back, terrified he would not let them out of the car.

“Both girls will carry this horrendous ordeal around with them for the rest of their lives, but at least they can now see that Ali will be punished for what he did to them and is behind bars where he belongs.”
