17-year-old Manchester girl dies following collision with car
A teenage pedestrian who died in a road collision in Manchester has been named.
Nazia Sultana, 17, died on Friday 7 August 2009, after she collided with a car on Princess Road, Moss Side, Manchester.
At 4pm police were called to the Parkway to a report of a collision.
Officers attended and Nazia, who lived in Moss Side, had died at the scene.
An 18-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on bail until 16 October 2009 pending further inquiries.
Police are still appealing for witnesses, in particular a black woman who may have seen the collision. Officers would also like to hear from the driver of a Volkswagen Polo-type car which may have been travelling behind the car which collided with Nazia.
Sergeant Jon White, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “This was a tragic incident involving a young girl.
“I’d urge anyone with any information, however trivial they think it may be, to contact us.”
