Indian star sees famous waxwork in flying visit to UK
CRICKET’S Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar, met with his wax figure at Madame Tussauds in London this weekend.
He first came face to face with his likeness in April in Mumbai when for the first time in over 200 years Madame Tussauds took a figure overseas to launch.
But in a flying visit to the UK Tendulkar took his family to the London attraction to savour ‘Sachin Fever’.
“I’d never been to Madame Tussauds before, so it was a real first for me and my family!” Tendulkar said.
“I had already posed with the life-like wax figure back at home in India, but it feels different seeing it in the midst of some of the biggest names from all walks of life.”
The Tendulkar figure has been placed in the attractions Sport Zone and comes with an interactive cricket game.
It has already been a huge hit with the crowds.
Liz Edwards, PR Manager at the world famous attraction said: “We were absolutely delighted to welcome Sachin and his family here at Madame Tussauds. His figure has proved to be extremely popular over the last few months and really deserves his place amongst our others sporting greats including David Beckham and Lewis Hamilton.”
