THE HUSBAND of a woman stabbed to death at the TK Maxx store in Leicester has paid a glowing tribute to his wife.

Rina Jayant Panchal, 26, was fatally stabbed at the TK Maxx store where she worked.

She was rushed to Leicester Royal Infirmary but died shortly afterwards.

Mrs Panchal had been an employee at the store for just under a year.

Mr Jayant Panchal, Rina’s husband, paid tribute to his wife saying she was a much loved family member.

“Rina was a brave, sweet, fun loving person. She had a bubbly personality and apart from being my wife she was also my best friend”, he said in a statement released by Leicestershire Constabulary.

“Everyone who came into contact with her left with a smile. She had many friends within the community and she will be missed very much.

“I pray to god that she can rest in peace and that justice will be done in relation to her death. Rina was not only my wife she was also a very loving, sister, daughter and auntie to other members of our family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.”

TK Maxx was closed for business to allow for a forensic examination to take place.

Managing Director of TK Maxx, Mr Paul Sweetenham, said: “Rina Panchal joined our Thurmaston store when it opened just under a year ago. She was a committed member of our team, always cheerful and bright. Her positive and warm outlook made Rina a very popular colleague, and she will be deeply missed by us all.”

31-year-old cleaner William Otim Alikori, was remanded in custody charged with Mrs Panchal’s murder and will appear before Leicester Crown Court on 13 April.
