Football All Star tournament raises money for Anthony Nolan Trust

A HOST of Asian celebrities have taken part in a football All-star tournament to raise money charity.

Eastenders stars Nitin Ganatra, Thomas Law and Himesh Patel were among the celebrities who helped raise money for the Anthony Nolan Trust at the Football All Star Tournament.

The annual event, which celebrated its second year running at the Broadfields Country Club, raised over £2,000 as some of the UK’s leading Asian media titles and popular celebrities battled it out on the football pitch. 

Louise Wright from the Anthony Nolan Trust said: “We constantly need people to sign up and join the donor register, especially young males and black and minority ethnic groups. The much needed funds raised at FAST will help us continue our efforts to save the lives of leukaemia sufferers.”

Events company, Zen Events, were crowned winners of the tournament, whilst Channel 4’s The Grewal Family finished runners up.

The event, which was hosted by pop diva Jaya, also featured a charity raffle with a host of exclusive prizes up for grabs including, VIP tickets to next year’s UK Asian Music Awards, a luxury makeover and photoshoot with Asiana magazine, a spa day experience with Ayuspa Massage and a wine hamper from Soul Tree Wines amongst many others.
