The call for nominations for the 15th annual Asian Achievers Awards, which celebrates the accomplishments of individuals from the South Asian community, is officially open. The announcement was made at the official awards launch event on Friday 12th June at the cool new boutique hotel, M by Montcalm, in London’s Shoreditch.
Taking place on September 18th at the Grosvenor House Hotel, the awards will this year theme around ‘Uniformed and Civil Service’. Often overlooked, those in the Civil Service play an integral role in government, by developing and implementing policies as effectively as possible, while our uniformed men and women risk their own lives each day to ensure the safety of civilians, both in the UK and overseas.
Mr. CB Patel, Publisher/Editor, ABPL Group says: “In the landmark 15th year of the Asian Achievers Awards, it brings me much pride to pay special homage to British Asian men and women who help to both run our country and also protect it. Their remarkable deeds can be life-changing, and even life-saving, but these people go largely unrecognised.
“With the opening of the nomination call, we are hoping to hear the stories of these, and other inspiring people, from all walks of life. We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to recognise some truly extraordinary individuals, and I am confident that this year will not be any different.”
Hosted by Asian Business Publications, Ltd (ABPL), the Asian Achievers Awards celebrates individuals from the South Asian community who have inspired communities and achieved outstanding accomplishments in their respective fields.
Last year’s winners include Hanif Kureshi CBE,Mahmud Kamani, co-founder of boohoo.com and ground-breaking music producer, Naughty Boy, aka Shahid Khan. The late Flight Lieutenant Rakesh Chauhan, was also honoured for his service to his country with a posthumous Editor’s Award for Bravery and Patriotism.
