Surekha Chouhan was born in Birmingham in the 60’s and moved to Leicester having completed her degree in Combined Sciences from Loughborough. After completing her education, she swiftly moved into family owned business trading commodities. During this period she got married, bought her first two bedroom family home and had two children. In the early 90’s she parted from the family owned business and bought her first investment property. Over the years Surekha has successfully managed and increased her investment portfolio with a number of commercial and residential properties, during the downturn in UK Markets she re-focused her attention into the care sector.
Really Flexible Care (RFC) was launched in Bedfordshire during the millennium, with her Joint Business Partner John Connell, primarily to provide residential and respite care to Autistic Young People. With over six locations, the business now specialises in providing Supported Living, Education, and Respite/Residential/Day Care, with in house training for the care providers. RFC continuously works with local councils and social services to provide the best care possible.
The successful business model of RFC allowed the Joint Managing Directors to focus their efforts on a new business model – safety Deposit Centres. Mint Securities was born in 2013 and is now operating two branches within Leicester catering for the local community helping reduce the loss associated with burglary/robbery. They are both now looking further afield aiming to go PLC with MINT Securities and plan to launch further branches nationwide over the coming month/years.
During the launch process MINT Securities have consulted various bodies with great experience in crime reduction and overall consumer safety which has resulted in the membership of the Safety Deposit Association (SDA) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). MINT Securities were the first independent safety deposit Centre in the Midlands to offer bespoke specialised Insurance to cover to its customers while their belongings are in storage at a MINT Facility and further helping cover goods while worn.
They are also a member of the Leicester Asian Business Association (LABA), Leicester Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Federation who provide a strong wider network with support and an experienced knowledge bank to Surekha and John.
