Woman Bailed
A woman arrested at Luton Airport in connection with Syria-related terror offences has been bailed pending further police enquiries.
The 25-year-old – arrested as she got off an incoming flight from Istanbul – was interviewed by detectives from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit on suspicion of preparing for acts of terrorism.
She was released from police custody to an address outside the West Midlands region with strict bail conditions; detectives have stressed there is no risk to the public.
As part of her bail conditions the woman, from Haringey in London, must live and sleep at a specific address, be subject to a curfew, must report twice a week to a police station, and has surrendered her passport.
The woman – arrested as part of an on-going intelligence-led operation – will return for more questioning on a date in March.
Two children who were travelling with her are being looked after by social services.
