Following an incident in Handsworth, a 64-year-old individual sustained critical injuries due to a stabbing. The authorities responded to the situation on Whitehall Road just after the stroke of midnight on Thursday, April 11.

The victim, aged 64, was discovered in a precarious state and promptly transported to a medical facility. As of today, Friday, April 12, the individual’s condition has been deemed stable, though they continue to receive care.

A 33-year-old individual, identified as Razvan Mut and without a permanent residence, faces charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon with intent to endanger life. The accused was scheduled for a court appearance before the Birmingham magistrates today.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We were called to Whitehall Road just after midnight yesterday (April 11) where a man was found seriously injured. The 64-year-old victim, who is believed to be known to the alleged attacker, remains in hospital in a stable condition.

“Mut, of no fixed address, has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon.”
