A “devoted” father and husband, Sajid Ali, 50, lost his life in a car accident on Cannock Road in Pillaton, Staffordshire. He was driving a blue Toyota Avensis that crashed into a black Vauxhall Corsa around 7.45pm on Sunday, January 14.
Despite the efforts of the medics who arrived at the scene, Mr Ali could not be saved and was declared dead shortly after. His family expressed their grief and love for him in a heartfelt tribute and said that he had earned a “deep respect” from his community.
They said: “His love, care, and humility touched the lives of many, earning him deep respect within the community. Sajid’s legacy lives on through the warmth he shared as a loving husband and the guidance he provided as a dedicated father to two precious children.
The family are being supported by specially trained officers, a spokesperson for Staffordshire Police added. A teenager who was travelling in the car with him was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A young man in his 20s, who was driving the Corsa, sustained serious injuries in the crash and is fighting for his life in hospital. The officers are asking for anyone with information to come forward as they probe the cause of the accident
