Police release details of man they want to speak to
DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a man at a North London Halal butchers have released details of a man they want to speak to.
Victim Irfan Ahmad, who died at Halal Food Direct in The Broadway, Wood Green, is believed to have been in an altercation with another man moments before he was stabbed on Thursday 29 September.
The 24-year-old, who had been stabbed in the chest, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Now detectives have offered a reward of up to £10,000 for information leading to the arrest, prosecution and conviction of the person responsible for his death.
And they have released details of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the murder.
Ehsannullah Mohabat, 18, was seen leaving Halal Food Direct shortly after Mr Ahmad was stabbed.
Mohabat is known to have gone back to his home in Enfield before disappearing. Police believe that he has contacts in a number of London boroughs including: Enfield, Haringey, Redbridge, Barnet, Waltham Forest and Brent and in the Gloucester, Leicester and Birmingham areas of the UK. They are appealing to anyone who knows his whereabouts to contact them immediately.
DCI Lawrence, said: “Mr Ahmad was killed in a busy area, in the middle of the afternoon and we need to hear from any witnesses who have not yet come forward. Do you have any information about the murder or the whereabouts of Mr Mohabat?
“It is essential that anyone with information contacts us as soon as possible.”
Mohabat is described as 5ft 5ins tall. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black hooded top with red writing on the front, baggy grey trousers and black trainers.
