Masked robbers threatened staff in two Bearwood high street shops today before fleeing with a large amount of cash.
The two men targeted both the Iceland and Poundland on Sunday morning.
The two men entered Iceland in Bearwood Road at around 8:30am this morning threatening staff, however they left empty handed.
Over half an hour later, at 9:10am the men struck again across the road at Poundland-threatening staff and demanding access to the safe, before leaving with a large amount of cash.
West Midlands Police has now launched an investigation into the robbery and attempted robbery-and confirmed they were linking both incidents.
A spokesman from the force said: “The offenders are believed to have left the area in a white Peugeot 2008.
“Nobody was injured and at this stage, detectives are linking both incidents.”
Anyone with information about the robbery should call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting incident log number 734 of February 10.
