On 7th of March the first ever Bus Summit will take place. The Labour council would like you to attend and hear your feedback on their plans.
The Shadow Transport Secretary, Andy McDonald MP, Birmigham City Council Leader, Ian Ward and Edgbaston MP Preet Gill, among others, will help us set out our future plans for Birmingham’s buses. They would like to know what you think of the plans.
A Birmingham Bus Survey has been launched to find out more about what works on our buses and what needs improving. Please complete the survey: https://www.birminghambeheard.org.uk/economy/bus-survey It closes on 1st March.
Councillor Waseem Zaffar, Cabinet Member for Transport & Environment said: “The Tory government makes it as hard as they can for our buses to work for our people. The Tory Mayor doesn’t care. Millionaires like him don’t use them. The effective monopoly private operator has a duty to maximise profit, not to serve people. The West Midlands urgently needs a better service. Our buses should be more affordable, more accessible, more universal and better integrated.
“At the Bus Summit we will tell you our long-term plan for our buses and how we intend to achieve it. And you can tell us what you think.
“We will also be launching our future bus campaigns. Knowing what we want is one thing: taking the political fight to the Tories is the only way to get it. That, too, can only happen with your support.”
The Birmingham Labour Bus Summit will take place on the 7th March 2019, 6pm – 8pm at the Birmingham City Council, Council House, Birmingham, UK.
