A 21-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court this morning charged with the murder of a frail grandmother.
81-year-old Mohinder Kaur was found gagged and suffocated by her son at her one-bedroom flat in Nutgrove Close in Kings Heath, Birmingham, on 25 August.
A post mortem revealed she had suffocated.
Police also revealed a number of jewellery items had gone missing from her home.
Waseem Shabir, of Dolman Road, Aston, Birmingham, was remanded in custody by the city’s magistrates this morning.
He is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on 19 October.
