The curry house Bilash has put Wolverhampton on the national food map. The restaurant offers a combination of traditional and contemporary Bangladeshi cuisine, has been featured in the Michelin Guide for the 18-consecutive year – the only city venue to be included in 2019.

Also named as a culinary hotspot by Hardens and the Good Food Guide and received the AA’s Culinary Rose of Excellence.

Mohammed Khan the owner who runs the restaurant with his father said “There’s no better accolade than to be listed in one of these publications, let alone all four of them.

“We never know when experts will come. There is no advertising or free meals as part of the deal…it’s a completely unbiased review of the food, the service, the atmosphere and the experience.”

He continued: “The guides really help to attract new customers and, importantly, they let people know that Wolverhampton does have a restaurant as good as anything the West Midlands has to offer.”

Bilash, employs 16 people at its Cheapside restaurant, seats 50 diners downstairs and a further 30 upstairs, which can be used for private dining or corporate functions.

In its 36-year history, and for the first time Bilash will be open on Christmas Day to provide 40 diners with a Royal Nawabi Feast.
