Award-winning actor Nina Wadia will host the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce’s (ABCC) annual dinner and awards.
Nina (pictured) has an acting career spanning 25 years, starring in a number of in sitcoms and soap operas including playing Zainab Masood in EastEnders and Mrs Hussein in Still Open All Hours, a spin-off of the sitcom Open All Hours.
In 2013 she won the Outstanding Achievement in Television award at the Asian Awards.
Nina will be hosting the ABCC’s 31st annual dinner and awards, which will be taking place at the International Convention Centre on Saturday, 17 November.
ABCC president Qasim Majid, president of the ABCC said: “We are absolutely over the moon that Nina has agreed to compere this year’s ABCC annual dinner.
“Nina is a huge star of stage and screen, and is best known for her roles in the TV comedy hit show ‘Goodness Gracious Me’, and, of course, one of the greatest British TV soaps, ‘EastEnders’.
“I’m truly excited at the prospect of another fun filled evening, celebrating the very best of Birmingham’s business community.”
This year’s annual dinner and awards aims to celebrate diversity and inclusion in the business community, following the launch of the ABCC’s ‘Diversity on Boards’ campaign.
