Wolverhampton-born Jai Verma has agreed a two-and-a-half year contract with top-flight Emirates League club last season for £300,000.
The British footballer, who last year was signed to Al Shabab FC has been going from strength to strength, having scored 12 hat-tricks in his last season. Verma originally from Park Village, is the first British footballer to sign a professional contact with Al Shabab FC. Now, the young Brummy is being approached by Major premiership clubs too. As of now, Al Shabab is among the highest-ranking football clubs in the UAE and plays in the United Arab Emirates Arabian Gulf League.
The 23-year-old has been even been compared to Xavi Hernandez, Barcelona legend, who currently plays for Qatar Side FC Al Sadd. He tweeted: “Am happy things have worked out more success to come.”
