This Saturday Young Entrepreneur Kasim Choudhry added two extra awards to his cabinet in one night, adding to the one he won earlier this year. Kasim left a career in Law to follow his dream in event management, something he had passion for while studying at university. Once a hobby that helped to fund his education, it has now become a full time career.

Kasim started organising events at the age of 16 while still in full time education. He continued to pursue this during his time at University and worked with artists such as Drake, Bruno Mars and even Shah Rukh Khan.

Kasim founded the Big Events Co in 2014 when he managed the ‘Birmingham Mela’ for the City Council. With the support of Big John’s Neighbourhood takeaway as headline sponsor, it was a huge success and it is now an internationally recognised festival attracting over 60,000 visitors.

He is also the event director for the Asian Apprenticeship Awards which has been a huge success. Since the success of his events the business has grown and developed it into a dynamic and innovative company which aims to design something different for every occasion.

Kasim has won the PMMA award for the Best Event two years in a row and won the UK Bhangra Awards Best Mela 2016. To top this off Kasim was also awarded the prestigious Asian Business Chamber of Commerce Award for Outstanding Business Start Up. The judges were impressed that Kasim was on track to go into a traditional profession but chose to follow his vision.
