Sunny & Shay; As We Proceed…

This month, Sunny had an operation which has meant that we both have had to pause and take some time out and look at the way in which we address men’s health. We’ve been inundated with messages of support and love which we wanted to thank you for, but we also wanted to take this opportunity to talk about health awareness. In society, we always perceive men to be macho or the main providers in society. But, just as roles have changed, our thoughts and expectations of men needs to change. We received messages telling Sunny that he was brave to share footage of him in hospital and for telling everyone he hasn’t been well. But the truth is we should all be more vocal about our health, not feeling ashamed or judged. Men’s health awareness is an important issue that often gets overlooked. Or perhaps laughed at. Not everyone has to go on Facebook or social media and tell the world about their health, but communicating with their loved ones should always happen. We always hear those stories of men laughing off a cough or not agreeing to go to the doctor. Sunny and I both hope that by our openness, we encourage you to not ignore the pain or ache you have and go to the doctor. You never know- it may save your life.
